In what has become a depressingly common occurrence in Indian cities, a woman who had the audacity to dress western and go to a bar was beat up and had her clothes torn off her by a mob of anywhere from 11-50 men (depending on who is telling the story). In an even more predictable act two, somebody caught the incident on video and the whole thing went viral. But in an awesomely old-school third act, a group of activists used the video to post billboards — yes, billboards — featuring the faces of the men who can be identified in the video and demand their arrest. So far, 11 attackers were identified and 4 arrested. Of course, as the activists point out, it shouldn’t take a billboard for the police to take action when a citizen is attacked.
